9/26/08 SDGA awards dinner held at Bellevue CC were Tyler Dattmore and Erik Davis received their POY awards. Zach Vinal (2000 Boys POY and 2001-2003 Jr POY) is honored with his second SDGA Mens POY award. Zach is now coaching at Long Beach State. Kevin Roy 2007 Jr POY and 2008 Mens POY runner up now playing at Long Beach State Click SDGA link above go to awards Dinner for more pictures. 9/22/08 SDGA awards three Four Year Scholarships for 2008 Award winners are Ryan Kelly, ( Tim Metzger Scholarship), Kevin Jackson and Tyler McArdell. Congratulation 8/21/08 Tyler Dattmore(74) and Erik Davis(74) both medal for our respective teams today at the par 72 Terry Hills GC in Batavia NY to tie for 3rd place in the Inter-district matches between Buffalo and Rochester's Junior and Sub Junior teams. With his finish Tyler Dattmore captures the SDGA 2008 Player of the Year honers. Erik Davis is also the 2008 SDGA Boys Player of the Year . Congratulations to both of the young men on a great season. I would like to thank everyone who made this season one of our most enjoyable years. Good luck to all the players with continued success in College and high school golf. Final points for 2008 are on the points page. 8/12/08 Eric Edmunds finishes tied for 10th at the 45th Williamson Cup and earns 80 points to pulls into a tie with Tyler Dattmore for 2008 Player of the Year. With Eric's win in the District, the Player of the Year is now a race again 7/31/08pm Drumlins East Eric Edmunds goes Eagle, Bride,Bride,Par to go 4up after 4 on Jeff Baldetti to start the Championship Final. Jeff worked it back to 1down at the turn but pulled is tee shot on ten into the Deep gress on the hill left going back to 2 down and ended losing 2&1. Eric was 2007 District Boys Champion. And That's"Match" play were the words being used as the results from todays matches spread through the club house and grounds of Drumlin CC. #One seated Tyler Dattmore (run a way Player of the Year and Jr District medalist) upset today by # 16 seated Sean Wildhach 1up in a morning first round match. Then #1 seated (run away Boys Player of the year and Boys medalist) Erik Davis defeated by #8 seated Mark Finlay in a second round match this afternoon. Joe Mauro (New Hart ford high school) and first year player in the SDGA Juniors events will meet teammate Bobby Jorgensen in tomorrow mornings semi-final match in the Jr A Flight (loser of that match will caddie in the finals). Joe said"This is the first time I've ever played match play, this is the most fun I've ever had playing Golf." Luke Smith and Tyler McArdell had 2 over 73's. Erik Davis medaled in the 14 and under with a seven over par 78 Followed by Ryan Conroy's 84. Round two's Tee times and Rd 1 scores 7/22/08 2008 Jr Classic Concluded Kevin Jackson closes with a 2 over 73(297) to hold off Eric Edmunds 74(299) and win this year's Jr Classic Championship. Erik Davis captures the Boys Championship (325) Tyler McArdell fires an even par round of 71 at the beautiful Yahnundasis Golf Club. I and all the players would like to thank our Four Member courses ( Wanoa GC, CamillusCC, Foxfire GC, and Yahnundasis GC) and everyone that helped make the 2008 Jr Classic a great experience. Go to points page to check it out. 7/14/08 Skaneatles teammates of Baldetti (74-77-75-226) and Edmunds (72-78-75-225) medal the 3rd round of the Jr. Classic at the very challenging Foxfire G. C. With 75 each to get within 1 & 2 strokes of the lead held by Kevin Jackson (73-72-79-224) and Tyler Dattmore (69-76-80-225). Tyler McArdell (73-81-76-230) had a 76, which moved him within 6 strokes of the lead. Mark Finlay medaled in the 14 & under with a 82. Dan McCarthy shoots a 69 at Bellevue CC last Friday to earn the second of three spots. Mike Stackus earns the third spot of three at the CC of Rochester with a score of 71.
